Justice Deepak Verma

Hon'ble Justice Deepak Verma, born on August 28, 1947 at Jabalpur, did his schooling from Christ Church, Mahakaushal High School, Model High School and finally, matriculation from Naveen Vidya Bhawan, Jabalpur. After matriculation, he took admission in B.Sc. in Government Science College, Jabalpur, but later on, changed from Science to Arts and did his B.A. from St. Aloysius College, Jabalpur. He completed his LL.B. from Jabalpur University.
Justice Deepak was enrolled as an Advocate in the year 1972. He practiced as such mainly on the civil side till elevation in 1994 under his father late Shri R.P. Verma, who was a great civil lawyer of his time. Justice Deepak was Administrative Judge of Indore till August 2005. Thereafter, he continued as Administrative Judge, High Court of MP, Jabalpur. He was additionally appointed as Welfare Commissioner, Bhopal Gas Victims, to disburse the amount of compensation to the Gas Victims of Bhopal. Almost all victims have been awarded compensation during his tenure except for those who are not traceable despite notices.
He was transferred as Judge of the Karnataka High Court, Bangalore, on 2nd January, 2008. He was elevated as Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court on 4th March, 2009 and took oath as the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court on the 6th March, 2009. He was elevated as Judge of Supreme Court of India on 11th May, 2009.
