Darius J. Khambata, Senior Counsel, LL.B. (Bombay), LLM (Harvard), practices before the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court of India. He currently occupies the Office of the Advocate General of Maharashtra. Traditionally, the Advocate General is regarded as the ‘Leader of the Bar’ at the Bombay High Court. He appears for the Government of Maharashtra in its major litigation before the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court of India.
Prior to his appointment as Advocate General, he served as Additional Solicitor General of India for three years, and in such capacity, he appeared for the Government of India in its major litigation before the Bombay High Court. He has appeared in a number of important Constitutional, Corporate, and Commercial matters for both the Government of India as well as the Government of Maharashtra.
